SUMMARY:ESOG - Webinar - Was Your Ancestor Accused of Being a Witch? Karen Fortin
DESCRIPTION:Was Your Ancestor Accused of Being a Witch? Exploring the Colonial New England Witchcraft Trials\nPresented by Karen A. Fortin \nProgram Description\nWe have been fascinated by the stories of the New England witchcraft trials\, particularly those in Salem\, Massachusetts\, in 1692\, for hundreds of years. This presentation will explore what happened and what our ancestors believed and try to explain why these events took place. \nAbout the Speaker\nKaren A. Fortin has degrees in history and library and information science and a passion for research. She worked in public libraries for over 30 years before starting her genealogical business in 2016. She is a member of various local\, state\, and national genealogical societies\, the Association of Professional Genealogists\, and the Genealogical Speakers Guild. She loves to help people explore their family history so that they can better understand their ancestors and the world in which they lived. \nAttendance Information\nThe Zoom room opens at 12:45 p.m. Eastern. A brief Society business meeting begins at 1:00 p.m.\, followed by the presentation and an open question-and-answer period. \nNonmembers who would like the Zoom link should email membership@esog.org.
