For the Zoom credential\, contact fgspresident@gmail.com no later than August 8. \nThe Falmouth Genealogical Society (FGS) will hold its monthly talk Saturday\, August 9\, 2025\, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at the Falmouth Public Library\, 300 Main Street\, Falmouth. \nRhonda R. McClure\, Senior Genealogist with American Ancestors\, presenting via Zoom\, will discuss how descendancy research\, i.e. tracing all descendants of an individual to the present\, can help you further your research. While family historians most often focus on tracing their ancestry further and further into the past\, there are cases when doing the opposite—tracing lines forward is required. Whether you are building out your ancestors’ network of extended family\, hoping to understand DNA connections\, working on a study project\, creating a family association\, or just want to connect with distant family\, this talk will provide the tools and strategies for finding living relations. \nRhonda McClure is a nationally recognized genealogist and lecturer. She is the editor of the recently released 6th edition of the Genealogist’s Handbook for New England Research. Her areas of expertise include: immigration and naturalization\, late 19th and early 20th Century urban research\, and New England and Mid-West research.
