Learn about why Catholic records were created\, what treasures they contain\, how to interpret them\, and how to locate them online and offline. \nMargaret Rose Fortier\, a Board-certified genealogical researcher\, writer\, and lecturer\, is named after her grandmothers and is inspired by her mother’s phenomenal memory. She specializes in immigrant ancestors to New England and serves on the board of the Association of Professional Genealogists. \nThe program is a CAS member benefit. All those whose memberships are current will be sent the ZOOM link to the event via email. The society’s membership year is June 1st to May 31st.

DESCRIPTION:Ray Sears\, “Using LearnForeverLearn to Examine Your Family Tree for Endogamy and Pedigree Collapse.” \nRay Sears has been studying his family history since 1976 and along with his Mom and sisters has documented most of his ancestors to the 9th generation.\nCape Cod ancestors in the 17th and 18th century were part of an endogamous community where cousins married cousins. This makes traditional use of autosomalDNA very difficult. Using the LearnForeverLearn tool a genealogist can easily visualize pedigree collapse by allowing the tool to analyze a GEDCOM of a person’s ancestors and possibly find a way to sort out all those autosomalDNA matches you have.\nPlease register for all events.
