The New England Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (NEAPG) is one of the 22 participating societies in the 2011 New England Regional Genealogical Conference (NERGC).
The New England Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (NEAPG) is the local chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG). NEAPG is designed to be a place where professionals from a wide variety of specialties can come together with the common ground of genealogy to:
- To promote international awareness of, and interest in, professional genealogical services,
- To promote professional standards in genealogical research, writing and speaking,
- To engage in activities which improve access, facilitate research and preserve records used in the fields of genealogy and local history,
- To promote awareness of activities and/or laws which may affect genealogical and historical research,
- To educate the membership and public through publications and lectures, and provide support for those engaged in genealogical pursuits as a business.
Members include family historians, professional researchers, librarians, archivists, writers, editors, consultants, indexers, instructors, lecturers, heir searches, house historians, lineage society applications, identification and dating of old photographs, columnists, booksellers, publishers, computer specialists and geneticists.

The Chapter also sponsors other activities throughout the year, including advanced genealogy discussions and field trips to major genealogical repositories in the region.
Many of our professional genealogists will be happy to assist with your research; speak to your group on numerous genealogical topics or provide a variety of other services. Most must charge fees to cover their expenses, investment in their continuing education, acquired experience and valuable time. We know you want excellence in the services you seek and we encourage you to contact our members to see if one can address your needs.
